Barbie, il film diretto da Greta Gerwig con protagonista Margot Robbie, ha raggiunto un nuovo traguardo record ai Critics Choice Awards, con un totale di 18 candidature. Si conferma quindi come il film con più nomination di sempre nella storia di questo premio, superando il record di Everything Everywhere All at Once e La forma dell’acqua, entrambe con 14 nomination nei rispettivi anni di uscita.
Margot Robbie è stata ovviamente candidata come migliore attrice, ma le nomination includono categorie come miglior film, miglior regia (per Greta Gerwig), miglior attore non protagonista (Ryan Gosling), miglior attrice non protagonista (America Ferrera) e ben tre nomination per migliori canzoni originali.
La cerimonia di premiazione dei Critics Choice Awards 2024, che sarà trasmessa su The CW negli Stati Uniti, si terrà domenica 14 gennaio. Tra gli altri grandi contendenti troviamo sono Oppenheimer di Christopher Nolan e Povere Creature di Yorgos Lanthimos, entrambi con 13 candidature ciascuno.
